To Keep You Moving
The goal of a chiropractic adjustment is to return the normal range of motion to a joint, either in the spine or extremities. By doing that, it is common to have a reduction in pain, muscle tightness, and nerve irritation. To perform an adjustment the doctor will use a high-velocity low amplitude thrust, meaning quick but not deep thrust, into the restricted joint. Of course, this would be done after a thorough examination to make sure this is the correct treatment for you.
Manual therapy can consist of many different approaches. Here at Omni Health Chiropractic, we offer myofascial release, instrument assisted soft tissue manipulation (IASTM), cupping, joint compressive flossing, and different stretching methods. These methods help decrease pain, restore range of motion, increase blood flow to the affected area bringing in nutrients to help support the healing process, and allow tissues to heal in an organized fashion.
By looking a movement patterns, we can help narrow down where the source of your pain is coming from. Pain follows faulty movements or muscles not working how they are meant to. When we movements are done incorrectly, they can lead to a decrease in range of motion, weakness, poor posture, or instability leading to tissue injury causing the symptom of pain. To keep pain from starting, to end the symptoms of pain, exercise can be used as a pre/post-surgery tool, posture correction, or just to become a better functioning person in general.
